![]() The Wii version of Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is really how it was meant to be played, but the PS2 port still makes for a great, underrated survival horror title. It appears Konami didn't print many copies of this port either, as trying to track down a PS2 copy of the game can set players back around $70 or more through eBay or Amazon. ![]() Since it arrived relatively late in the PlayStation 2's lifespan, the Silent Hill: Shattered Memories port tends to be forgotten about. Still, it takes the psychological horror formula of the series and gives it a unique spin. Harry is safe from attack when the world hasn't frozen over, and the only type of enemy that appears during the occasional chase sequences are more irritating than frightening. That said, fans take issue with the fact it isn't terribly scary. The game itself is an atmospheric and engrossing ride, with a surprisingly emotional twist ending. New to the series are a depiction of Silent Hills demonic alter-dimension as a world of ice, and the removal of weapons from the game - when the monsters come out, Harry. Silent Hill: Shattered Memories is widely regarded as the most innovative addition to the series, and as it adapts its gameplay to the decisions the player makes.
